Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants

The Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants (by act of Parliament)is responsible for the regulation of the accounting profession in The Bahamas.

Under the Act, the Regulations thereto and the Rules of Professional Conduct, persons engaged in public practice are required to adhere to the standards designated by the Institute. Currently, these are, for accounting, International Financial Reporting Standards set by the IASB (and the predecessor standards International Accounting Standards promulgated by the IASC) and, for audit and attest sevices, International Standards on Auditing promulgated by the IAASB of IFAC.
