BFSB NATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION

The Bahamas Financial Services Board (BFSB) is pleased to launch a national Photography Competition, opening August 2, 2025, until September 30, 2025. This is your chance to showcase your talent, gain international exposure through BFSB’s publications and media, and have your work featured in a silent bidding exhibition during the Financial Services Industry Awards on November 14, 2025.
Submit your best work and let your lens tell the story of The Bahamas.
All entries must adhere to the following:
- All entrants must be Bahamian residents and may submit only one entry. Submissions must consist of authentic photographs taken within The Bahamas and clearly identifiable as such.
- Each entry must be the sole, original work of the photographer submitting it.
- Each portfolio must include a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 images.
Individual allowed to participate in one category.
- Tier 1: Students (Grades 7–12)
- Tier 2: Amateurs (Non-professional camera users)
- Tier 3: Professionals (Photographers using professional-grade equipment)
A maximum of 3 winners will be selected within each category. Winners will be notified on October 20th, 2025, through email and featured on social media campaigns.
Top entries in each category will receive:
- 70% of winning proceeds from silent auctions with minimum bid starting at $1000 per piece.
- Work featured in BFSB’s international publications and media.
- Gallery display at the Bahamas Financial Services Industry Awards.
Note: The student winners (Tier 1) will have their prizes placed in investment accounts to introduce and encourage early financial literacy and long-term savings.
By submitting a portfolio to the BFSB Photography Competition and Exhibition, each participant agrees to the following terms:
- Ownership and Use of Winning Portfolios Portfolios that receive winning bids during the exhibition shall become the joint property of the Bahamas Financial Services Board (BFSB) and the bidding member firm. Both parties reserve the right to use the winning photographs for promotional, educational, or other purposes, with appropriate credit where applicable.
- Rights to Display Participants grant BFSB a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and publish winning photographs in any format or medium, including but not limited to print materials, online platforms, social media, and exhibitions. This license is granted for promotional and archival purposes, with full acknowledgment of the photographer’s contribution.
- Originality and Copyright Participants affirm that all submitted photographs are original works created solely by them, and do not infringe on any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary rights of third parties. If any person is identifiable in the image, the participant must have obtained the appropriate consent or model release.
- Right to Disqualify BFSB reserves the right to disqualify any submission that is incomplete, inappropriate, or not in alignment with the competition's theme or rules, at its sole discretion.
- No Compensation Except for portfolios that receive winning bids, participants understand and agree that no additional compensation or licensing fees will be paid for the use of submitted photographs as described in these terms.
- Acknowledgment of Terms By submitting a portfolio through the designated portal, participants confirm that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Agreement. Submission constitutes a legally binding agreement to the conditions outlined above.
