WTO Director-General Roberto Azevêdo attended the G20 Summit in Hangzhou, China, on 4-5 September to discuss trade and investment issues with the leaders of major economies. He also took part in the B20 Summit in Hangzhou on 3 September for discussions with international business representatives.
**G20 Summit**
After the G20 Summit, the Director-General said, *”The WTO is making good progress in delivering meaningful trade reforms, and I was pleased at the leaders’ call to strengthen the WTO, resist protectionism and increase co-operation on trade issues. The leaders also called for the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement to enter into force in 2016.”*

B20 Summit
The [B20](http://en.b20-china.org/index) provides a significant platform for the international business community to participate in global economic governance and international economic and trade regulation. The B20 Summit held on 3-4 September, 2016 in Hangzhou, China shared with the G20 the theme of *”Towards an Innovative, Invigorated, Interconnected and Inclusive World Economy”*.
