Tax administrations meet on “Panama Papers”

As had been [announced](https://bfsb-bahamas.com/news.php?cmd=view&id=3517) last week, the [Joint International Tax Shelter Information and Collaboration (JITSIC) Network](http://www.oecd.org/tax/forum-on-tax-administration/ftajitsicnetwork.htm) met in a special project session today at the OECD in Paris.

JITSIC Participants from a number of countries – including members of the OECD and the G20 – exchanged views on the Panama Papers and explored mechanisms for co-operation. A release from the OECD today noted that *“Follow-up will be ensured by each tax administration, in accordance with its own domestic laws and regulations as well as information-sharing agreements that governments have in place between them.”* Also noted was that the discussions are confidential and the OECD is not privy to any taxpayer specific information.

JITSIC is a grouping of tax officials who exchange views, information and practices at an operational level. It is a network of the [OECD Forum on Tax Administration](http://www.oecd.org/tax/forum-on-tax-administration/).
