Jacinta is a 2014 candidate for BFSB’s FSI Student of the Year (SOTY) Award.
BFSB introduced the programme in 2002 to recognise an outstanding graduating student from within COB’s School of Business. The COB collaborates with an industry panel – made up with representatives from various Industry Associations and the Central Bank of the Bahamas – to select the winning student each year.
Sponsors of the 2014 Award are the Association of International Banks & Trust Companies (AIBT), CFAL, and Societe Generale Private Banking (Bahamas) Ltd.
The Student of the Year will be announced at the 2014 FSI Excellence [Awards Dinner](https://bfsb-bahamas.com/news.php?cmd=view&id=3310&pre=y) on November 14. At that time, BFSB also will recognise “Industry Stars” for excellence, including a [Lifetime Achievement Awardee](https://bfsb-bahamas.com/news.php?cmd=view&id=3309&pre=y) and a [Mentor of the Year](https://bfsb-bahamas.com/news.php?cmd=view&id=3321&pre=y).

##About Jacinta##
Jacinta graduated from the College of the Bahamas’ Northern Bahamas Campus this year with a BBA in Accounting (Distinction) and currently serves as an Associate with PricewaterhouseCoopers Bahamas.
While at COB, Jacinta was on the Deans/Presidents List for the entire matriculation, served as the Division Vice President for the Union of Students (COBUS) for 2013-2014, achieved the COBUS NBC Award of Recognition as well as an Award of Excellence COB/NBC and is a member of the college’s Sigma Alpha Pi Honor Society.
She is also an alumna of Grand Bahama’s Bishop Michael Eldon School from which she obtained her High School Diploma. Noteworthy accomplishments while there included being Runner Up for the Junior Minister of Tourism program and attainment of the Chamber of Commerce’s Business Student of the Year Nominee Award.
She believes in helping people by encouraging them to *“be the change they want to see”* and encouraging others to be a blessing to others.
Jacinta is a Member of the Freeport Gospel Chapel’s Youth & Combined Choir and is currently studying for the Uniform Certified Public Accountant Exam (CPA). After achieving her CPA, Jacinta plans to obtain a Master’s degree in Accounting with a concentration in Forensic Accounting and to sit the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) exam.
