##Mandelia K. Morris – BBA, Banking and Finance##

Mandelia is one of two finalists [announced](https://bfsb-bahamas.com/news.php?cmd=view&id=3058&pre=y) by the Bahamas Financial Services Board for the 2011 FSI Student of the Year. She graduated from the College of the Bahamas (COB) with a BBA in Banking and Finance (Emphasis on Offshore Banking). Mandelia was on the Principal’s Honors List at the COB between 2006 -2009, a Commonwealth Bank Scholarship recipient between 2006-2010, and a Scotiabank Scholarship recipient in 2010. At the COB Graduation, she received the Chamber of Commerce Academic Award as well as the Bahamas Institute of Financial Services Banking & Finance Award. While at COB, she participated in a Study Abroad Exchange Programme for a Semester at St. Mary’s University in Halifax, Canada where she was enrolled in management, banking and accounting classes. She was an active member of the Caribbean Society at St. Mary’s University, and assisted with its Caribanza 2010 banquet.

Mandelia’s secondary education was at St. Augustine’s College from which she graduated in 2006 with High Honours and 7 BGCSEs, attaining the Outstanding Students in Bahamian High Schools Award. She also is a recipient of the Bronze, Silver and Gold Governor General Youth Award.

An active community volunteer, Mandelia currently works with Mary Ingraham Geriatric Center and has volunteered at various other organisations, including the Nazareth Center, Ranfurly Home, Sandilands Geriatrics, Persis Rodgers Home, Elizabeth Estates Home, Our Lady’s Soup Kitchen, and the Calvary Bible Soup Kitchen. She also is a member of the Calvary Deliverance Toastmasters Club 1199193.

While at the COB, Mandelia worked with Commonwealth Bank (Assistant Receptionist/Filing Clerk) and also with Chelsea’s Choice (Accounts Receivables Clerk/Customer Service Representative). She currently is employed with Credit Suisse AG Nassau Branch as an Office Assistant in the Wealth Management department.

She plans to pursue a Masters in Finance, as well as the CFA designation. She presently is enrolled in a Series 7 securities course.
