On behalf of their respective countries, The Hon. T. Brent Symonette, Bahamas Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Hon. Didier Reynders, Minister of Finance for the Kingdom of Belgium signed a [Tax Information Exchange Agreement](https://bfsb-bahamas.com/international/040165500.pdf) today in Brussels.
The Deputy Prime Minister said the level of cooperation between The Bahamas and the Kingdom of Belgium signifies the goodwill that exists between the two countries. He continued, *“The Bahamas looks forward to a productive relationship with the Kingdom of Belgium in this and other areas.”*
The Bahamas Belgium TIEA is the ninth concluded by the Government of The Bahamas – and the fifth with a member of the OECD – which incorporates the accepted international standards in respect of transparency and effective information exchange in tax matters.
