The Bahamas Financial Services Board (BFSB) joined with the Registrar General’s Department (RGD) on Tuesday to host an industry briefing.
The purpose of the briefing was to provide an opportunity for a team from the RGD to update registered agents and other interested parties on various enhancements undertaken by the Companies Department, including the rollout of a comprehensive automation project and quality assurance initiatives. The Briefing was moderated by Mrs. Yolanda Coakley of Trident Corporate Services (Bahamas) Limited, a member of BFSB’s Registry Services Working Group. Key presenters on behalf of the RGD were Ms. Jacinda Butler, Acting Registrar and Mr. Wellington Smith, Supervisor of the department’s Management Information Systems (MIS). In welcoming agents to the event, Mrs. Coakley described the RGD as a critical component of how agents service clients and the important role registry services plays within the financial services and business sectors of the economy.
BFSB plans to host a series of such Industry Briefings early in the New Year to profile developments within other segments of the Registrar General’s Department.
