People, Partners and the Pursuit of Excellence***
With a decade of contribution to the development and advancement of the local financial services sector, the Bahamas Financial Services Board (BFSB) marks this milestone anniversary with a celebration of the people, partners, and the pursuit of excellence within the industry.
Initiatives planned to commemorate the occasion include the launching of a banner on West Bay Street, a radio and television show, and – to cap off the celebrations – a Cocktail Reception and Silent Auction set for November 22nd, 2008. Board Director and Anniversary Committee Chair Suzanne Black says, *“Given these challenging times, I think it’s important that we stop and recognise our accomplishments. We hope and would encourage all financial industry participants and friends of the industry to join the celebrations.”*
CEO & Executive Director, Wendy Warren, points out that *“BFSB has been privileged to assist in the development and marketing of the financial services industry for the last 10 years.”* She further maintains that any success achieved is a result of the partnership between the public and private sectors and their respective determination to improve the business environment in The Bahamas, *”BFSB is very thankful for the stakeholders of our financial services sector; they contribute so much, many times without being asked and without complaint”.*

BFSB, a private-public partnership, officially began operations in July 1998. Currently, it has more than 160 members from the banking, trust, investment advisory services, insurance, and investment fund administration sectors; as well as legal, accounting and management professionals.
