BFSB says its annual Financial Services Industry Excellence Awards recognise role models in the financial services industry for their outstanding performance and contribution to the growth and development of the industry here in The Bahamas. According to CEO Wendy Warren, *“These Awards continue to recognise the importance of quality human resources for the success of the industry.”*

Since the programme was introduced some 8 years ago, “Stars” of the industry are chosen in four categories: (1) Executive of the Year – CEO level; (2) Professional of the Year – Any level of Management or Supervision; (3) Achiever of the Year – Junior and Support levels; and a special award for (4) Development and Promotion of the Financial Services Industry. Nominations were open to the entire Financial Services industry including industry regulatory and supervisory agencies.

The awards are complemented by BFSB’s Financial Services Student of the Year outreach, hosted in collaboration with the College of the Bahamas’ School of Business.

The 2008 Industry Excellence Awards Banquet will be held on October 25, at Sandals Royal Bahamian Hotel and Spa. All finalists will be recognised at that time, and the recipients in each category will be announced for the first time. Ms. Warren said BFSB is delighted to have this opportunity to recognise these outstanding performers.
