BFSB’s 2008 **Financial Services Industry Excellence Awards Banquet** has been scheduled for Saturday, October 25th. Now in its eighth year, the event will be hosted at the Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort & Spa.

The annual Awards Programme recognises our most important asset – “people power”. It also acknowledges the importance of human resource development to the ongoing success of the financial services sector. This initiative was launched in 2001 in collaboration with the Professional Industry Association Working Group (PIAWG) as part of the **Financial Centre Focus (FCF)** outreach designed to profile the industry. Specifically, this recognition programme profiles role models in our industry for their outstanding performance and contribution to the growth and development of the industry here in The Bahamas.

**Nominations**

BFSB has opened nominations for the 2008 Financial Services Industry Excellence Awards. As in previous years, awardees will be chosen for (1) **Executive of the Year** – CEO level; (2) **Professional of the Year** – Any level of Management or Supervision (3) **Achiever of the Year** – Junior and Support levels and (4) **Financial Services Development and Promotion** awards. See nominations guidelines and forms attached. BFSB encourages member firm Human Resource Managers, or persons serving in that capacity, to undertake the coordination of nominations. The deadline for nominations is October 3rd.

**Banquet & Awards Booklet**

In addition, BFSB invites members and guests to join in celebrating the successes of colleagues as it pays tribute to the individuals identified by their peers as “outstanding performers” within financial services. Banquet Reservations are being accepted now and may be submitted through the attached Banquet Reservation Form.

Again this year, the Awards Advisory Group will publish a souvenir booklet, which will profile the nominees in all four categories. It will also speak to the history of the FCF and Excellence Awards, and serve as a programme for the evening’s activity.
