The Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA) has launched **”The BICA Scholarship of Excellence”** award – which will fund two outstanding students in their third or fourth year of study at the **College of the Bahamas** over the next five years, by way of an annual $10,000 scholarship.
BICA President Kendrick Christie says the Institute is pleased to assist the College in its endeavours to contribute to the world of accounting in The Bahamas. Members will be encouraged to donate to the BICA Scholarship fund.
BICA also recently launched its motto: *” Upholding Integrity, Striving for Excellence”*.
The Institute (i) provides training on timely and relevant subject matter through Continuing Professional Education (CPE) courses; (ii) represents the membership via active involvement in several local and international bodies, including: Bahamas Financial Services Board, International Federation of Accountants, and Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Caribbean; and (iii) provides comments / suggestions on draft acts, particularly those that have impact on the accounting profession.
