**Bank of the Bahamas International** has received Euromoney Magazine’s Award for Excellence. BOBI was selected as “Best Bank” in The Bahamas, based on three leading criteria: performance, innovation and attention to building customer loyalty. *”It was a great honour for a relatively young bank from The Bahamas to be recognised among the leading banks, financial institutions and stock brokerage companies of the world,”* said BOBI’s Managing Director, Paul McWeeney.
Euromoney Magazine credited BOBI for an aggressive mortgage campaign in 2005, which boosted the bank’s portfolio by 40 per cent in one year. The bank was also recognised for having strong equity returns and a successful $25 million rights offering which was “hugely subscribed.” Euromoney further pointed out that BOBI has worked hard at customer loyalty, developing its Internet banking, expanding its ATM network and expanding its credit card business via a prepaid Visa promotion.
