**Dr. Christopher Rose**, BSc., M.D., M.A. (Oxon), FRCP(C.), CFA, ACIArb.
Dr. Christopher Rose, Director of International Tax Policy within the Government of the Cayman Islands, is a featured speaker at the upcoming Bahamas Financial Services Retreat. He will address participants on “Tax Treaty Implications for Trade in Financial Services” in a Plenary Session on the first day of the Retreat.
Dr. Rose is a barrister and also holds professional qualifications in medicine, and financial analysis. His principal areas of interest in the law are international taxation, intellectual property and e-business. He maintains a research affiliation with the University of Oxford.
The 2006 BFS Retreat is being held at Our Lucaya Beach and Golf Resort, Grand Bahama. Other Plenaries and Small Group Breakout Sessions will cover issues such as Strategy and Branding, Jurisdictional Positioning and Regulatory Reform. The results of the online Strategy and Brand Survey, launched recently by the Ministry of Financial Services in collaboration with BFSB, will be unveiled at the Retreat.
The annual Retreat presents the opportunity for financial services industry stakeholders to discuss the key drivers of the sector and to formulate strategies for the growth of The Bahamas financial services industry.
The forum, usually held away from Nassau, also provides opportunities for networking in an informal setting.
