Recently knighted for his services to both the British and international financial industries, Sir Callum McCarthy, Chairman of Britain’s Financial Services Authority (FSA), will present on “Regulatory Risks in Current Markets” at the second annual Nassau Conference at the British Colonial Hilton in Nassau next week.
As head of the financial regulator of banking, insurance and securities activities in the UK, Sir Callum will give an overview of the main issues facing the financial services sector today, how these issues have evolved and how they are likely to develop in the future.
Sir Callum McCarthy joined the FSA in September 2003 from the Office of Gas and Electricity Markets where he was Chairman and Chief Executive. He had previously held senior positions in Barclays Bank, BZW and Kleinwort Benson, as well as the Department for Trade and Industry. He is an economist and graduate of the School of Business at Stanford University, where he was a Sloan Fellow.
The two-day event, which attracted nearly 150 delegates in its inaugural year, will cover a broad range of topics under the theme *“Wealth Management in a Diverse World”.*
