The Institute for International Research’s GAIM USA 2005 Conference, the largest gathering of hedge funds in the USA, has announced record registrations for next week’s event, taking place at the Boca Raton Resort & Club.

Over three days, January 18-20, the GAIM conference will provide attendees with unparalleled insight into the hedge fund industry. More than 700 senior industry leaders have already registered for the event; and 800 are expected to attend. Attendees will be able to take advantage of the high expertise of GAIM’s speaking faculty, with prime opportunities for networking and discussing industry developments.

The conference will feature several of the hedge fund industry’s leading managers and institutional investors from all over the world. Conference attendees will hear keynote speakers from veteran industry professionals, including Anatole Kaletsky, Senior Economist, Gavekal; Hunt Taylor, Director of Investments, Stern Investment Holdings and James S. Chanos, President & Founder, Kynikos Associates, Ltd.

The GAIM conference will include key topics such as: 2005 forecast and outlook, the new regulatory environment, new strategies, fee structures, leverage and institutional demand.

**Bahamas Presence**

The Bahamas will be represented at this year’s event, with a number of fund industry representatives signed up for the conference. The Bahamas Financial Services Board (BFSB) will be in attendance, complete with a promotional Booth as part of GAIM’s Exhibit.

Included as part of the promotional materials being displayed at the BFSB Booth will be the *Investment Funds Guide*, a publication that describes funds suited for institutional and private clients. Conference participants also will be directed to the *Investment Funds Legislative Review* link of BFSB’s web site — a detailed review of the Bahamas regulatory environment and the open architecture facilitating the structuring of funds. The Review also provides details on the Investment Funds Act, Regulations and SMART Fund templates.
