The Bahamas Financial Services Board’s Student of the Year programme is designed to recognise an outstanding graduating student from within the School of Business, College of the Bahamas.

The award is open to graduates from all financial services relevant disciplines – e.g., economics, banking & finance, accountancy and law, and also extends to computer information systems, marketing, and management.

The criterion for initial selection is a GPA of 3.5 or above. Additional criteria include COB and community involvement, special interests, further education, and work/other experience.

Working in collaboration with COB lecturers, a Working Group of BFSB judges finalists and makes the selection after a review process, including one-on-one interviews. The overall winner is recognised at BFSB’s Annual Industry Excellence Awards Banquet.

This year, the Colina Financial Group and SG Hambros Bank & Trust (Bahamas) Limited joined forces to co-sponsor the Award in collaboration with BFSB.
