RoyalStar Assurance has received an A- (Excellent) Financial Strength rating from A.M. Best, the international rating agency. This rating reportedly was based on the company’s improved capital levels and earnings posture last year, a solid balance sheet, new ownership, and strong market presence.
RoyalStar says the rating also recognised its management’s expertise in the Bahamian market. In 2002, the Royal & Sun Alliance (Bahamas) was acquired by a consortium of Bahamian investors, becoming RoyalStar Assurance.
