The world-wide insurance rating and information agency A.M. Best Company has provided a financial strength rating of “A-” (Excellent) to Colina Insurance Company.
President James Campbell says this is evidence of the company’s financial strength and its ability to meet the ongoing needs of the community.
A.M. Best is the largest and longest established company devoted to issuing in-depth reports and financial-strength ratings about insurance organizations. Its flagship publication and database, Best’s Insurance Reports, offers the largest coverage of insurers and reinsurers in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and worldwide of any interactive rating organization.
Colina recently received Bahamas Government approval for its $4 million acquisition of Canada Life’s Bahamian operations. Combined with Canada Life’s Cayman operations which Colina is acquiring as well, the purchase reportedly will add some $40 million in assets and about 7,000 policies to the firm’s existing book of business.
