Focused on identifying, training and developing leaders in the financial services industry, this Executive has taught at COB and the local CPA review program in Nassau. He played a key role in the development of the Cooperative Education Program at the COB, and the creation of the Deloitte & Touche Cooperative Education Program (D&TCEP). This currently provides ongoing work experience for 40 students from COB and universities and colleges in the USA and Canada.
The D&TCEP programme fills a need for banks and trust companies in the industry: i.e. the provision of client accounting services to assist with the backlog of “required” customer financials that had built up in these institutions over the years. Using well- supervised “Co-op” students, D&T provides these services to major players in the industry at reasonable rates.
Mr. Winder was the first Accountant to be named “Accountant of the Year” by the members and Council of the Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1999.
BFSB will announce the winners of its 2003 Awards at its Annual Banquet scheduled for October 4, Radisson Cable Beach Resort.
