Nominations are coming in for the annual Financial Services Industry Excellence Awards hosted by the Bahamas Financial Services Board (BFSB).
Alicetine Newbold, Office Administrator at Arner Bank & Trust Ltd., has been nominated for the **”Achiever of the Year”** award.
Described by her employers as a knowledge seeker who demonstrates interest in understanding the organisation and the industry, Ms. Newbold also is credited with having played a significant role in the success of Arner’s local operations.
Reliability, loyalty and the ability to undertake tasks positively all rated high marks on her nomination ballot, as did her “willing and consistent” approach to ongoing professional training, for which she always endeavours to excel.
As in 2001 and 2002, BFSB will present this year’s Excellence Awards to individuals in three categories. **Achievers** (junior and support staff) are expected to demonstrate an outstanding work ethic, professionalism in executing duties, and to accomplish personal and corporate goals. Candidates for the **Professional Excellence Award** (any level of management or supervision) are required to display leadership qualities and consistently make contributions to their organisations. The **Executive of the Year** category requires nominees to exemplify outstanding leadership qualities and contribute overall to the growth and development of the industry.
Taking note of the critical importance of quality human resources for the success of the industry, BFSB designed the annual Awards Programme to profile role models; it provides the opportunity for peers to recognise the “Stars” of the financial services industry.
Selection of the winner in each category will be made by a Blue Ribbon Panel, with the winners announced and recognised at the Annual Awards Banquet on October 4, at the Radisson Cable Beach Resort.
