Scotiabank (Bahamas) Limited and American Airlines Inc. have launched the AAdvantage Visa credit card in The Bahamas.
Scotiabank is issuing the card using the AAdvantage (American’s travel awards programme) brand in accordance with an agreement signed by the two companies. The AAdvantage Visa card can be used for everyday purchases as well as travel expenses, and cardholders will earn one AAdvantage travel mile for every Bahamian dollar or local equivalent of foreign currency retail purchase charged.
Said Anthony C. Allen, Managing Director of Scotiabank (Bahamas), *”For some time now we have been seeking opportunities to provide additional benefits to our cardholders. This new partnership with American AAdvantage will clearly bring those additional benefits.”* American Airlines’ Country Manager for The Bahamas, Juan Carlos Liscano said the introduction of the card demonstrates the importance of the market to both Scotiabank and American Airlines.
