**Financial Centre Focus Programme**
The Bahamas Financial Services Board (BFSB), in collaboration with local Professional Industry Associations, last year launched its “Financial Centre Focus” (FCF) programme. The FCF programme is designed to facilitate the growth and development of the financial services industry by profiling the essential components for the continued success of The Bahamas as an international financial services center, inter alia, through:
-Attracting focused young Bahamians to the sector
-Continued training of industry professionals
-Encouraging all industry participants to keep abreast of changes in the industry.
The primary goal of this ongoing programme is to ensure that The Bahamas remains a competitive financial centre. This will be achieved through ongoing public education and awareness programmes, focusing on:
-Developments in the industry
-The importance of high service standards
-Enhancing relationships between the financial services industry and the community
-Attracting and maintaining qualified industry professionals
**Financial Services Industry Awards**
The Financial Services Industry Awards are designed to recognise role models in the industry for their outstanding performance and contribution to the growth and development of the Financial Services industry in The Bahamas. The Awards recognise the importance of quality human resources for the success of the industry.
The Awards Banquet will be held on September 14 and is the premier event of Financial Services Week, which will be observed from September 6 – 14.
Nominations are open to the entire Financial Services industry including industry regulatory and supervisory agencies and government institutions involved with financial services activities. Human Resources Managers or individuals acting in a similar capacity are asked to coordinate the nomination process within their organization; however, a Blue Ribbon Panel of judges will select the award recipients.
In an effort to ensure the integrity of the results, an independent observer will oversee the process.
