RBC Royal Bank of Canada, a member of the RBC Financial Group, last month opened new branches in Harbour Island and Treasure Cay.
At opening ceremonies, the Governor of the Central Bank of The Bahamas, Julian Francis, said the bank has provided “unmatched” leadership in domestic banking, demonstrating confidence in the Bahamian economy. The Governor saw the provision of modern banking services in the Family Islands as part of the infrastructure needed for economic and social development.
Ross McDonald, RBC Vice President for The Bahamas and the Cayman Islands pointed out that Royal had opened its first branch in Nassau back in 1908 and for almost 40 years after that time was the only bank in The Bahamas. *”We are opening these new branches because we see excellent opportunities to serve the growing needs of our clients”*, he said.
RBC Financial Group, a leading diversified financial services company, has more than 600 employees in The Bahamas.
