Pamela Klonaris of Klonaris & Co. (Nassau) and Philip C. Dunkley of Higgs & Johnson (Nassau) are among the international speakers at this year’s STEP Caribbean Conference scheduled to take place in Miami, Florida from May 6 – 8.

Heralded as “the premier forum for trust professionals in 2002”, the conference is being co-hosted by STEP Miami and STEP Barbados, with Heather Thompson, Chairperson of STEP Bahamas an active participant on the Conference Steering Committee. Ms. Thompson has indicated that the local STEP Committee is very excited about this event, which will provide up to date information by well qualified professionals in a stimulating forum.

The Bahamas financial services industry will have a high profile at the conference with The Association of International Banks and Trust Companies in The Bahamas (AIBT) and the Bahamas Financial Services Board (BFSB) acting as platinum co-sponsors. Under the Theme *”No Man Is An Island”*, the three-day event will focus on issues relating to Wealth, Mobility and the International Client. It will also cover the challenges of mobility with the transnational family, technical mobility and other IT issues, tax and reporting obligations, the governing law of trusts, privacy, and wills. A special session will address the media and macro Issues, with two international journalists reporting on coverage of the rapidly changing world of financial services.
