Taking Advantage of Market De-Regulation
In recognition of the convergence of voice and data applications, and ever conscious of the importance of time productivity to business development, Systems Resources Group (SRG) the country’s leading information technology, eCommerce and communications solution provider, teamed up with Mitel, a world leader in voice communication systems almost two years ago. The partnership recently demonstrated the “next generation” converged voice and data systems at a special showcase in downtown Nassau.
Using the same transport medium for voice and data not only reduces infrastructure costs, but it allows this strategic business communications tool to integrate with intelligent messaging systems, remote access products, call center solutions and natural speech recognition technologies. Products recently introduced by SRG and Mitel include the Speak@Ease Attendant, a speech-enabled personal dialer, automated attendant and tool management application. Also introduced was the Unified Messaging system which provides integrated voicemail, electronic mail and fax in a single messaging box. Representatives from Mitel also featured their Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) systems.
The market for voice systems was de-regulated with the creation of the Telecommunications Act 1999 and the creation of the Public Utilities Commission.
